I am a stay at home mom to two amazing teenage boys and wife to the most wonderful husband there is! I am a DIY jack of all trades and master of nothing.
I have loved crafting for as long as I can remember. My mom taught me how to crochet and hand sew simple stitches at a very young age and that started my forever love of creating. I remember being so excited to be able to make simple things for my Barbie dolls.
Throughout the years I have tried many different crafts, too many to list. My husband and I even owned our own little brick and mortar teaching others how to DIY things like small furniture and signs. Sadly we had to close up due to a cross country move for my husbands job. That was almost two years ago and I have been enjoying miniatures since!
I inherited my first dollhouse right before our big move. It’s a beautiful house that my great aunt started and we had worked on it some together. I haven’t really done a lot of miniature work before that, but I think she knew I would love it as much as she did and put my heart into the finishing of it. Thus began my miniature obsession. I find myself taking long breaks from working on it, because it’s a massive house and I want it to be just right, so I have done things, and changed them, and then changed them again. I am still working on getting the outside details right where I want them and that has stalled me a bit. So in the meantime, I have been working on my little Bellingham Farmhouse that I picked up on a local marketplace. I find myself constantly scouring the ads looking for any deals on furniture and accessories. The seller of the dollhouse happened to have quite a few other unopened, mint condition Duracraft house kits, so I am not ashamed to say we ended up with 12 kits in total from him lol. I will have my work cut out for me for a long time!
This is my first time blogging, so you’ll have to bear with me as I get my footing. My goal is to help inspire others in their miniature making journey. I can’t tell you the amount of time I have spent scouring the web looking for inspiration, ideas and tutorials only to come up empty handed. In the miniature world it’s not always easy to find what you’re after! I believe in trying to find easy ways to make stuff that won’t break the bank and require thousands of dollars worth of tools. My intentions are to help other novice miniaturists like myself reach their dollhouse goals. I will do my best to explain how I did things, and take pictures (I am so bad about that and I am trying to do better I promise!). I am also always happy to help anyone with questions in whatever way I can!
